Simple Use Film Camera - Optimistic Ox
Packaging Design & Art Direction  |   International   |   2021

As the Suminagashi artist and the designer of the Lomography Simple Use Film Camera - Optimistic Ox Edition, I merged my traditional Suminagashi art with contemporary packaging design. I collaborated with international teams from packaging to product photography and design materials. We created this camera design blending with my Suminagashi art, aiming to send hope and strength to the world during the challenging pandemic in 2021.
In the wake of 2020's waves, my aspiration for the Lomography Simple Use Film Camera - Optimistic Ox Edition was to encapsulate our collective resilience. It's a tribute to endurance, with swirling Suminagashi patterns that mirror life's vibrant unpredictability. The camera, adorned with a steadfast Golden Ox, signifies perseverance and hope. It's more than a tool—it's a companion for the journey ahead, ready to capture moments of joy with a touch of golden optimism. Simple, yet profound, it's a snapshot of the spirit we carry into the New Ox Year.
